Prenatal Yoga Instructor / Birth & Postpartum Doula

My Story

I often say that yoga saved me, and while it might seem dramatic, it’s also equally true. I started practicing yoga at age 15, on the living room floor of my parents’ house with my mother. I don’t even think I had a proper yoga mat back then. After college, I got married, moved to Chicago, and decided to study yoga out of curiosity. Studying at both Chi-town Shakti in Chicago, and Shoshoni Yoga Retreat in Rollinsville, Colorado, I obtained my 200-hour in 2014, and 85-hour Prenatal certification in 2015. As a Birth and Postpartum Doula and a mother of 3 myself, I deeply understand the needs of pregnant people and soon realized that mothering other mothers was my niche. Rooted deeply in meditation, I aim to create classes that feel like home with community that feels like family.

I truly enjoy humanizing the yoga experience and look forward to meeting my students where they are. As a forever student, I have spent the last decade growing as a person and a teacher, working toward my 500 hour certification. I have also had the privilege to study Pelvic Floor Yoga and Corporate Yoga, and I am a certified Meditation Teacher. After 2 years of traveling the states in an RV with my family, we finally landed here in Silverton, where I traded in skyscrapers for a backyard garden.

In my spare time, I indulge in a multitude of hobbies including, but certainly not limited to climbing mountains, running trails, reading books, and studying languages. I am an avid traveler, a lover of life, and I can’t wait to practice with you. Description of your classes. I've included a few types. Tell me what you think the people want! ;) Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga is an excellent way to prepare your body for all of the changes it will go through during pregnancy, childbirth, and into mothering. Focusing on strength and stamina will help to prepare your body for labor, while practicing meditation and breath control will prove to be invaluable tools to utilize not only during labor and birth, but well into postpartum and beyond. Prenatal yoga class is a wonderful opportunity for pregnant people to connect and be curious about their changing bodies and growing babies. This class is appropriate for people in all stages of pregnancy. No prior knowledge of yoga is needed, and all levels and types of humans are welcome to attend!
